In collaboration with Partners In Health (PIH), the Society for the Analysis of African American Health Issues is pleased to offer the first in a series of webinars on Global Health to its membership. In 2005, the Rwandan government contacted PIH about assisting the Ministry of Health in building health systems and durable infrastructure to provide exceptional medical care to its 11 million citizens. With April being the month to remember the victims of the country’s 1994 genocide, this webinar will look at the gains Rwandans have made post-genocide in addressing the social determinants of health through innovative Global Health practices. Participants attending this webinar will learn from a diverse panel of global health experts about the medical and public health transformation Rwanda has gone through post-genocide and PIH’s contributions to it.
